Autumn has arrived! And, of course, with it the creative activities that children love so much.
This year we are going to decorate our seasons board with 3 different activities:
- Dry leaves tree;
- Sponge tree;
- Leaf molds.
Bertinha loved doing these activities. She was able to handle the leaves, play with the season’s characteristic colors, mix them up and create others. Also, painting with sponges is a lot of fun!
Let’s start.
Dry Leaves Tree
Materials:
- dry leaves;
- Container where to crush the leaves;
- free downloadable template;
- liquid glue.
Instructions:
- After picking up the dried leaves (something kids love), put them in the container and crush them until they reduce in size;
2. Put liquid glue on the sheet of paper, especially in the area of the tree branches;
3. Lay the dry leaves on the sheet. Wait a few minutes and lift the sheet of paper, making the excess dry leaves fall and only the glued ones remain.
4. And it’s done! Super easy, simple and kids will love it!
Sponge Tree
Materials:
- Free downloadable template;
- Washable paint – 4 colors (yellow, green, red, orange);
- Paint sponges – you can find them here;
- Plate (or any other recipient to put the paint).
Instructions:
- With the sponge, use the 4 colors as you prefer and paint the tree. Initially, Bertinha was using the colors separately, but eventually ended up mixing them.
2. Let dry and hang it wherever you want.
3. I really liked the result and the leaf-shaped sponge helped.
Leaf Molds
Materials:
- free downloadable template;
- 2 sheets of paper – size A4;
- scissors;
- Tac adhesive;
- Washable paint – 4 colors (yellow, green, red, orange);
- Paint sponges – you can find them here;
- Plate (or any other recipient to put the paint).
Instructions:
- Cut the leaves;
- Using the tac adhesive, place the cut leaves on the sheets of paper;
3. With the sponges, paint over the molds;
4. Remove the molds and let everything dry separately;
5. When everything is dry, hang them.
6. It’s wonderful to see the children’s faces when they discover the effect of the mold on the sheet, after painting.
Bertinha loved these activities. Many discoveries were made, fine motor skills were worked, and the concept of the Autumn season was well reinforced.
