Come grocery shopping at Lidl in Portugal with me for a very normal grocery run: fresh food, a few family favorites, coconut water for me, and enough corn cakes to keep Felisberta happy for quite some time.

Before going inside, I also filmed my outfit because apparently I cannot simply go grocery shopping. The look must have its own little moment too.

Join me as I choose the groceries we were missing at home, restock Felisberta’s favorite snacks, and leave Lidl feeling far too pleased with a cart full of very ordinary things.

Getting Ready for Grocery Shopping

For this grocery run, I wanted an outfit that felt chic but was still comfortable enough for walking around the supermarket and carrying bags back to the car.

What I Wore

I wore black jeans with a black top that I really love, especially because of the detail at the back.

I added black ballet flats and my brown Zara bag. Then, as the final touch, I added a white scarf.

It was a simple black outfit, but the scarf made it feel a little more polished. Sometimes one small detail is all an outfit needs.

Why I Like Grocery Shopping at Lidl

One of the things I love about Lidl is that the fruit and vegetable section is right at the entrance.

It makes sense to me to begin with the fresh ingredients we need at home before moving on to the refrigerated and frozen sections.

Naturally, I still manage to leave with more than I originally planned. Supermarket mathematics remains one of life’s greatest mysteries.

Fresh Fruit, Vegetables and Family Favorites

I started by picking up the fruit and vegetables we were missing at home.

Lemons are always essential in our kitchen. I use them for cooking, and they are also one of the ingredients in my lemon and ginger water.

I also picked up bananas from Madeira, which Felisberta absolutely loves.

Then I bought some salmon, which is another one of her favorites, along with salad and blueberries.

These are simple ingredients, but they make it much easier to put together meals and snacks during the week without overthinking everything.

Coconut Water for Me

The coconut water was for me.

OMG, I love ice-cold coconut water. It is one of my favorite refreshing drinks, particularly when the weather is warm.

There are practical groceries, and then there are the little things that make you strangely happy when you see them in the fridge. Coconut water belongs firmly in the second category for me.

Felisberta’s Cheese and Yogurt

Then came Felisberta’s cheeses.

I would be in serious trouble if I forgot those. The drama would be immediate, loud and entirely justified in her opinion.

I also stopped by the yogurt section to pick up the ones we like.

These are the items that may not look particularly exciting in a grocery vlog, but they are the things we genuinely buy and use at home. That is the point of these mini vlogs: real life, not a beautifully arranged cart full of products nobody actually eats.

Our Frozen Vegetable Favorites

In the frozen section, I bought broccoli for Felisberta.

I also picked up one of my own favorites: a Mexican-style vegetable mix with beans.

I have only found this particular mix at Lidl, and I absolutely love it. I could honestly eat a full bowl of it on its own.

It may not be the lightest vegetable option in the freezer, but it is incredibly tasty. Sometimes that wins.

The Great Corn Cake Restock

And then I arrived at Felisberta’s corn cakes.

She has loved these corn cakes since she was about three years old and refuses to eat any other kind of cracker.

I have tried offering her plain crackers, but no. She is not interested. She only wants these.

I am not complaining. She does not eat sugary cookies or sweets in general. Her idea of a sweet treat is fruit.

Proud mom moment.

Lidl is where I find the best balance between price and quality for these corn cakes. The packets are large, they are organic, and the price shown during this shopping trip was €0.99 per pack, although prices may have changed since then.

That is why I buy them in bulk when I go to Lidl.

When we run out and I cannot get there, I may buy one packet from another brand. But when I am at Lidl, I do the serious restocking.

Ten packets later:

Felisberta is officially stocked.

Mission accomplished.

Packing Everything Into the Car

Once everything was in the cart, I headed to the checkout, paid for the shopping and packed the bags into the car.

Fresh food, Felisberta’s favorites, my coconut water, and enough corn cakes to survive a minor national emergency.

A very productive Lidl shopping trip, I would say.

Why I Share Ordinary Mini Vlogs

Nothing extraordinary happened during this outing.

I chose an outfit, went grocery shopping, bought the foods we needed and drove home.

But that is exactly why I enjoy sharing these mini vlogs.

Most of life is made up of ordinary routines: grocery shopping, getting dressed, preparing meals, driving home and trying not to forget the one item your child considers absolutely essential.

Those little routines may not look dramatic, but they are our real life.
