Three years of homeschooling, the experience keeps getting better. I learned a lot, adapted to the various daily challenges and the constant surprises.

If previously I valued the use of planners, now even more. Being organized is the key.

However, finding a planner that suited homeschooling for me was difficult. That’s why I decided to make one.

This “Homeschool Planner” offers flexibility, allowing you to plan the year, months and weeks. It includes a weekly overview, with a to-do list and notes. And, of course, it also has the student’s records – up to a total of 5. It works for parents who have more than one child in homeschooling, or a tutor in individual education (in the Portuguese system).

How to use the Homeschool Planner

1. This Planner belongs to…

Here the home educator puts some personal information and his/hers weekly schedule.

2. Annual plan – with 2024 and 2025 calendars

With annual plan you can see the year at a glance and prepare your activities accordingly.

3. Monthly calendars – from September 2024 to July 2025

In these pages you can write down the holidays, school calendar and other dates you find important during the school year.

4. Weekly plan, with to do list – from September 2024 to July 2025

Here is where you will be able to organize your week, with a weekly view, and write down your to do list. You can also write important notes at the bottom. And  there is also a month calendar at the top, where you can see the week highlighted.

5. Student’s records: student list (up to 5 students), student’s information, student’s weekly schedule, important contacts, attendance

This section is very important. Keeping record of students’ work is vital to have elements of evaluation. This planner can be used for up to 5 students. Either because you may be a tutor with multiple students, or a parent with more than one child.

6. Meetings (planner and log)

Meetings are essencial to decide and monitor the student’s path throughout the school year. It is important to have a place where we plan and record them. In this planner we have the meeting plan, where we can write down the date, time, place, subject and participants. In the meetings log box, we record the date, subject and its content.

7. 8. 9. Contacts, Passwords, Notes

These three sections are pretty self-explanatory. Here you write down the contacts that you consider important, the passwords of the websites where you are registered, as well as notes for every information you find important.

This planner was based on my experience as an home educator and teacher. I tried to put together the two worlds and create something that is really useful to me for this school year.

I was very happy with the result and I think it is perfect for this school year organization.

Last year it was really useful. I love this planner and I am sure that, those who try it, will see how their school year, as a home educator, will be much more practical.
