If someone told me a few years ago that I would start a running journey, I would have laughed and said, “Running? Definitely not for me.” And yet, here I am, officially beginning my beginner running journey, with a heart full of curiosity, a bit of fear, and a surprising amount of excitement.
Running has always been one of those things I looked at from a distance. I admired people who did it, respected their discipline… but I never believed I could be “one of them”. I always thought running belonged to another world — not mine. But life changes, we change, and sometimes, we reach a point where we want to see what we are really capable of. That’s exactly where I am today.
Why I Decided to Start Running
Because yes… let’s be honest: I never liked running. Actually, I hated it. I found it boring, uncomfortable, exhausting, and mentally draining. But that version of me belonged to an older chapter of my life. And right now, I want to see what the “new me” thinks about running.
I want to know if running can become something meaningful instead of something I avoid. I want to see whether discipline, mindset, and emotional strength can transform something I dislike into something I am proud of doing.

Turning This Into a Real-Life Commitment
One of the reasons I decided to document this journey is simple: commitment.
When you document something and share it, it stops being just a thought or intention. It becomes a commitment — not only to others, but to yourself. I know myself well enough to admit one thing: when I say it out loud and publicly, I take it seriously.
I want to be able to look back in months and see:
- where I started
- what I felt
- what scared me
- how much I changed
Just like written diaries help you understand your emotional growth, these running vlogs will help me see my physical growth, mental strength, and resilience.
If It Doesn’t Work, I’ll Be Honest About That Too
This isn’t a perfect fairytale journey. I’m not promising magical motivation every day. I’m not promising that I’ll love running. I’m not pretending that it will be easy.
And I think that honesty matters.
If at some point I feel that running truly isn’t right for me, I will say it openly. Not everything has to become a passion. Sometimes, the bravery lies in trying, not in forcing yourself to continue something that truly doesn’t align with you.
But right now, I want to try. I want to see how far I can go. I want to find out who I become along the way.

A Few Things I’m Using for This Journey
If you also want to start your beginner running journey, having the right basics really helps. These have already made a difference for me:
• Good running shoes — proper cushioning matters: Adidas running shoes
• Comfortable sports water bottle — hydration is everything: water bottle
• Earphones — music or podcasts keep me mentally engaged: earphones
• Phone armband — practical, secure, and hands-free: phone armband
• Small Nike running pouch — perfect for keys and small essentials: Nike pouch
You don’t need anything luxurious, but investing in a few good basics makes running feel more comfortable, safer, and more enjoyable.

This Is Only the Beginning
This video marks the beginning of my running journey, but also something deeper: a journey of growth, curiosity, courage, and discovery.
I’m excited to see whether I’ll be the person counting every second of that first one-minute run thinking “WHEN DOES THIS END?!” or whether I’ll surprise myself and say, “That wasn’t so bad after all.” Either way, it’s going to be a story worth telling.
This is my journey. From zero to stronger.
From “I don’t like running” to “let’s see what happens”.
One step, one breath, one run at a time.
