Iced matcha latte in a glass with ice on a bright neutral background

This iced matcha latte is one of my favorite “clean energy” drinks when I want steady focus without a sugar crash. It is quick, refreshing, and easy to keep low sugar. If your weight loss struggle includes cravings, low energy, or constant snacking, this is a smart swap for sweet coffees and sugary drinks.

If you want a caffeine free option, try my lemon ginger water for digestion and weight loss support.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp matcha powder

  • 60 ml hot water (hot, not boiling)

  • 200 ml milk or unsweetened plant milk

  • Ice cubes

Optional

  • Cinnamon or vanilla (a tiny pinch or a few drops)

  • Low calorie sweetener to taste (stevia or erythritol)

How to Make It

  1. Add matcha to a small bowl or cup. Pour in hot water and whisk or shake until smooth.

  2. Fill a glass with ice. Pour in milk.

  3. Pour the matcha on top and stir.

Tip: if your matcha clumps, use a small sieve or shake it in a jar with a lid.

Best Times to Drink It (for weight loss)

  • Morning: great when you want energy without jumping straight into sweet coffee drinks.
  • Late morning: helps reduce cravings and keeps you consistent before lunch.
  • Pre workout: light, quick, and often easier on the stomach than coffee.

Weight Loss Tips That Actually Help

Use unsweetened milk. Add sweetener only if you need it. Many people stop needing sweetener after a few days. Cinnamon helps the flavor feel warmer and less bitter. If you tend to snack when tired, this is a strong replacement habit.

Digestive Notes

Matcha is usually gentler than coffee, but if you are sensitive, drink it after a few bites of breakfast. If dairy upsets your stomach, use almond milk, coconut milk, or lactose free milk.

Variations

1) Vanilla Iced Matcha Latte

Add a few drops of vanilla extract.

2) Cinnamon Iced Matcha Latte

Add a pinch of cinnamon to the matcha before whisking.

3) Protein Matcha Latte

Blend in 1 scoop of vanilla protein or collagen. This turns it into a more filling snack.

f you want a more filling drink with fiber, my cucumber lime chia water is another easy option.

Nutritional Information (approx, per serving)

Depends mostly on the milk and sweetener.

  • With unsweetened almond milk: usually very low calorie

  • With dairy milk: higher protein, higher calories

If you want, I can calculate a realistic macro range for the milk you use most.
