This was a mom and daughter park workout that doubled as quality time. We walked, played ball, climbed stairs, and turned a simple outing into a no equipment routine that boosts your energy and strengthens your bond. If you want a realistic way to stay active while being present with your child, save this workout and repeat it anytime.



Mom and Daughter Park Workout (25 to 40 minutes)

What you need

  • Comfortable sneakers

  • Water bottle (affiliate ok)

  • A park with paths and stairs

  • A ball or any simple toy (optional)

Warm up (5 minutes)

  • 2 min easy walk while you chat or sing

  • 1 min faster walk together

  • 1 min shoulder rolls and arm circles

  • 1 min “follow my steps” game (she copies your pace)

Main workout (15 to 25 minutes)

Do 3 rounds, keeping it playful:

  1. Walk and talk: 2 minutes brisk pace
    Prompt: “Tell me your favourite part of today.”

  2. Stairs together: 2 minutes steady up and down
    Option: you go one step at a time, she counts each step.

  3. Steps challenge: choose one goal

  • 200 steps total

  • 5 stair climbs

  • 8 minutes continuous walking
    Make it a “team goal” instead of a solo goal.

  1. Play cardio: 2 minutes
    Ball passes, gentle running in short bursts, or “walk to that tree and back”.

Rest 45 to 60 seconds between rounds.

Cool down (3 to 5 minutes)

  • Slow walk while you praise the effort

  • Calf stretch and quad stretch (30 seconds each side)



Activities you can copy with your child

  • Ball games and easy walking

  • Stair climbing challenge

  • Counting steps and mini math on the move

  • Laughing, sweating, and moving together
