Body Step with Igor Angélico
I finally made it to a Body Step class… after so long… jeez… way too long! 🥲 And today was with Igor Angélico.

During the warm-up, I kept thinking: “Why did I wait so long to do this again? I LOVE this!” ❤️

Body Step is one of those workouts that looks simple from the outside, then immediately humbles you once the music starts. It’s intense, it’s fast, and it demands real coordination, timing, and focus.

In this class you’ll see the sweat, the dancing, and yes, the burpees. 🔥 I filmed a few moments so you can get the vibe, and I’m sharing exactly why this session felt like both chaos and pure joy, all in one 45-minute ride.

Quick Verdict

  • Intensity (1–10): 9
  • Good for: improving cardiovascular endurance, lower body conditioning (glutes, quads, calves), coordination and rhythm, calorie burn, agility and balance, mental focus (learning patterns fast), stress relief, people who love music driven workouts, anyone who wants a fun way to train hard without staring at a clock
  • My after class mood: very happy

Class Snapshot

  • Duration: 45 minutes
  • Format: choreographed step sequences with repeated patterns that build in layers, tempo changes, bursts of power, constant up and down movement, and a few spicy moments off the step (yes, burpees showed up)
  • Equipment: step platform, supportive training shoes, towel, water bottle
  • Instructor style: Igor Angélico is energetic, sharp, and extremely engaging. He cues clearly, counts down (usually from 4), keeps the room moving, and brings a strong dance vibe that makes the intensity feel fun
  • My focus today: keep moving even when I got lost in the choreography, watch the cues, lock in the timing, and stay upright with confidence
  • Injury notes: no injuries, just full body sweat and that classic deep burn in the legs you expect from Body Step

Sweat, Steps and Surprises with Igor Angélico: The Class Story

Then… things got serious! 🥵 Body Step is an incredibly demanding class, yet ridiculously fun at the same time. I genuinely enjoy the constant up-and-down movement (don’t ask me why 😅), but I always take my time to figure out the… steps 😄. Seriously. I literally stop mid-move just to watch the instructor and try to win this leg coordination battle. The level of control and awareness we develop is unreal—you have to try it to understand… and to make sure you don’t trip and fall! 😅

Now, let’s talk about the best part: THE DANCE! OMG! Did you see the videos? 👀 How well does this man dance?! Magnificent! 🙌🏾 And the best part? I DANCED too! A lot! 😃 And that made me SOOO happy! 🤩 I even learned new moves today—brilliant!👌🏾

The sweat part…🥵 Body Step is NO joke! This class is intense, and today was a full-on 45-minute session. One thing I love about Igor is that he (almost always) counts down from 4. But lately, I’ve started reacting to his countdown the same way I do with the Grit lady—by stopping the second he starts! 😅 I know, I know… naughty! But sometimes, you just gotta take a tactical break. Self-care, right? 😁

And if you’re curious about another session where Igor pushed me hard, here’s my double challenge: Electrifying Double Challenge with Igor Angélico – Core & Attack Energy Boost!

And then came the burpees! This time, I caught them on camera! 🤩 The speed at which Igor does them is mind-blowing! And to think that, the other day at Body Attack, the track was even faster than today’s…🥵

But you know what’s great? These instructors lead by example. I was so impressed that I pushed myself to go as fast as I could. And guess what? I did better than last time! 💪🏾

I definitely need to go to Body Step more often. It’s a high-energy, full-body workout that seriously challenges coordination.

Igor was FANTASTIC—turning 45 minutes of pure suffering into absolute heaven, where we danced, laughed, and even had a visit from the great, yet tricky FLAMINGO! 🦩 I truly enjoyed every moment. What a class! 🔥

Igor brings the exact kind of energy Body Step needs: sharp, playful, and relentlessly upbeat. He cues clearly, keeps the timing tight, and makes the choreography feel exciting instead of overwhelming. I love how he counts you in, pushes the pace, and still gives you that split second to lock into the rhythm. His style is very “dance-first, sweat guaranteed”, and it turns 45 minutes into a full-body cardio party where you forget you’re working hard until your legs start talking back.

How I Felt After Class

  • Right after: Sweaty, breathless, and ridiculously happy. That “I did it” rush hit fast, and I walked out feeling like my whole body had woken up. 😅🔥
  • Later that day: Calm, light, and in such a good mood, with that quiet pride in the background. Next day: legs definitely felt it (hello calves and glutes), but in the best way, and still no knee pain. ✅

What a great class. Body Step reminded me why I love music-driven training so much. I laughed, I danced, I sweated like crazy, and I left feeling genuinely high on endorphins.

Igor Angélico brought the energy, the rhythm, and the push I needed. A proper vibe from start to finish. 👏🏾🔥
