Sprint with Igor Angélico

Sprint with Igor Angélico is the kind of class that makes you feel unstoppable during the ride and slightly shocked the moment you step off the bike. This Sprint session was fast, heavy, and adrenaline packed, with those signature bursts of speed and power that leave your legs burning and your heart racing. In this post, I’m sharing what the class felt like, the moments that caught me off guard, and why Sprint keeps pushing me past my comfort zone every single time.

Quick Verdict

  • Intensity (1–10): 10
  • Good for: improving cardiovascular endurance, explosive power, calorie burn, lower body conditioning (glutes, quads, hamstrings, calves), lactate tolerance, mental toughness, stress relief, anyone who loves music driven workouts, people who want a hard session that feels structured and fast
  • My after class mood: very happy (and completely drained in the best way)

Class Snapshot

  • Duration: 30 minutes
  • Format: interval based indoor cycling with repeated blocks of speed, climbs, power surges and short recoveries, lots of cadence cues and resistance changes, moments where your legs beg you to stop and the music keeps you moving
  • Equipment: Sprint bike, supportive training shoes or cycling shoes (optional), towel, water bottle
  • Instructor style: Igor Angélico is energetic, sharp and very engaging. He cues clearly, pushes you to commit to the work, and somehow manages to surprise the room even when you think you know what’s coming
  • My focus today: stay consistent through the hard intervals, add resistance when it mattered, keep my legs turning even when I wanted to back off, and ride the recoveries properly so I could hit the next effort strong
  • Injury notes: no injuries, just that classic Sprint aftermath, heavy legs, deep fatigue, and the feeling that you gave everything you had

The Workout

Sprint with Igor Angélico

Ahhh… Sprint! I arrived home so tired today. Like… every 10/15 minutes, I kept telling myself, “Jeez, I’m so tired! Gosh! Why is it so difficult to walk?! 😅 Yeah! That’s how hard it was. Igor Angélico really did a number on us! 🥵🔥

So today was another Sprint Thursday! Having done Body Balance yesterday, I thought I could handle this class perfectly fine today. How wrong I was. 😒😅

Igor greeted us in his usual cheerful way, and we began. Today, we were gifted Sprint 12. And… drum roll 🥁I LOVED IT ❤️! I really, really liked it! I was completely destroyed, but it was awesome! 😅

The warm-up was intense—Sprint style! 🔥
And then it got serious. Igor brought us bursts of speed and bursts of power! And let me tell you, I was not expecting that 😳!

I must say, the more I do Sprint, the more I like speed. It makes us push harder because, without realizing it, you’re using so much resistance! I always think I use the same as I do in RPM, but no… it’s definitely NOT the same amount of resistance!

Well, as expected, Igor came down to join us on the floor… and he is getting really good at surprising us! Out of nowhere, he just appeared right NEXT TO ME and said, “Let’s go, Suzy!” At one point, I thought, “How on earth is he already here?! 😳😅 He was just on the opposite side of the room a second ago!”

Ah! And let’s not forget that I was challenged to pedal faster than him 😳! It took me a while to realize he was serious…🤔… because…come on😅 Well, I immediately thought about sliding my fingers onto the resistance knob 😏 to take off some resistance and make the challenge a bit more fair😁 But, no! I decided to be a good student and do my work properly—especially because I wouldn’t want to hear the teacher say, “Don’t touch it! 😁” And I bet he would! 😏😅

We then finished with what Igor called THE POWER FINISHER! Every round, we had to add a bit more resistance. And I was a good girl! It was SO INTENSE 🔥, and it felt so good to reach the end knowing I gave everything I had! 💪🏾

Igor pushed us beyond limits, and I loved every second! What an AWESOME class! 👌🏾🔥🤩

Igor brings the exact kind of energy Sprint needs: sharp, upbeat, and relentlessly motivating, without turning the room into chaos. He cues clearly, keeps you locked into the beat, and pushes you to commit to the work, especially when your brain starts negotiating during the hard intervals. What I like most is how he builds intensity in a way that feels controlled, cadence, resistance, then a clean hit of power, so you always know what you’re aiming for, even when your legs are begging for mercy. He makes Sprint feel like a challenge you can actually win, one interval at a time.

How I Felt After Class

  • Right after: Sweaty, breathless, and ridiculously happy. That “I survived Sprint” rush hit fast, and I walked out feeling like my whole body had switched on. 😅🔥
  • Later that day: Calm, light, and in such a good mood, with that quiet pride in the background. Next day: legs definitely felt it, especially glutes and quads, but in the best way.

For a slower day that still feels like a win, this Body Balance session was perfect: Burn & Bliss: How Rita Calaz’s Body Balance Pushed My Limits.

What a class. Sprint reminded me why I love music driven training so much. It’s intense, it’s structured, it’s over before your brain can panic, and the endorphins hit hard.

Igor Angélico brought the energy, the timing, and the push I needed. A proper vibe from start to finish. 👏🏾🔥
