This Les Mills Core and RPM review after GAP covers one of those Friday training mornings that kept getting better.
I started with GAP with Igor Angélico, moved on to Les Mills Core, also with Igor, and just as I was about to leave, Pedro Pereiros appeared with an offer I simply could not refuse: RPM with Igor and Pedro.
So yes, this became a proper training morning.
It started with brutal leg work, moved into a Core class where I could clearly feel my own progress, and ended with an unexpected RPM bonus that made the whole morning feel even more special.
This was hard, energising, satisfying, and exactly the kind of Friday training day I love.

The Workout: GAP, Les Mills Core and RPM
Training started with GAP and Igor Angélico.
Lively group, instructor in great spirits, and we got going.
As Igor himself pointed out, the warm-up was already a workout.
Igor put together a leg track that was absolutely BRUTAL: squats plus weight plate plus fast and slow pulses! Yes! It hurt!
I also really loved a cardio track we did with ankle weights, combining squats with knee raises and heel-to-glute kicks. I LOVED it!
What I enjoy most about Igor’s GAP classes is the inclusion of exercises I recognise from Les Mills classes. This means the class never gets monotonous, because the variety of exercises is endless.
Was the class SPECTACULAR? CHECK!
We moved on to CORE, also with Igor.
As I mentioned, we were saying goodbye to this class at this time slot. And the room was well attended. People came to say farewell.
I think the plank track in this new Core has prepared me for anything! I did push-ups with one leg raised, WITHOUT knee support. Glutes also worked and Suzike is proud! NICE!
Track 3 is wonderful. I really enjoyed the Animal Flow, mainly because I am already doing it better! But the Bear Crawl… GOOD LORD!
Track 4 is tough but really fun, and track 5 showed me that side planks are now a piece of cake for me. It feels so good to notice your own progress!
The class was WONDERFUL, it will be greatly missed, but what matters is that I made the most of it while it lasted!
Just as I was getting ready to leave, Pedro Pereiros showed up with an offer I simply could not refuse: RPM with Igor and Pedro.
Incredible light show already in place, I adjusted my bike and we began. The camaraderie between Igor and Pedro is magnificent. Great energy was guaranteed!
Warm-up done, the workout started making itself felt, but it was track 4 that hit my tiredness hardest, with the mixed terrain.
Track 5 was really challenging and I struggled to keep up.
I LOVED track 6 (speed, my favourite), and we finished strong with the final track: always seriously powerful.
The morning of training was PHENOMENAL. I absolutely LOVE my Fridays, and today I was treated to a bonus in the form of an RPM class with 2 instructors I admire enormously!
PERFECT BOOTY TRAINING DAY? “CHECKISSIMO”!
Instructor Notes
Instructor credit: Igor Angélico and Pedro Pereiros
This was one of those training mornings where the instructors shaped the entire experience.
Igor carried the morning from the start. In GAP, he brought energy, humour and pain in equal measure. The leg work was hard, but the class never felt repetitive because of the variety and the way he structures the session.
In Core, he guided a class that clearly meant something to the people in the room. There was effort, but there was also a real sense of closure because that time slot was ending. That gave the class more emotional weight and made it feel memorable in a different way.
Pedro’s arrival for RPM changed the atmosphere again. The energy lifted immediately. The dynamic between him and Igor made the class feel like a bonus, not just extra effort added at the end of a long morning.
Together, they turned a strong training morning into something much more memorable.
Is GAP + Core + RPM Too Much for One Morning?
For me, it worked well, but it is definitely a demanding combination.
GAP starts by hitting the lower body early. Pulses, squats, plate work and ankle-weight cardio wake everything up very quickly.
Core afterwards keeps the body working, but in a different way. It demands control, endurance, plank strength and concentration. It is also the kind of class where progress becomes very visible over time, especially when things that used to feel difficult start to feel manageable.
RPM at the end is what turns the morning into a real challenge.
By then, the legs are already aware of everything that came before. So when mixed terrain and speed tracks arrive, the tiredness shows up properly.
Still, it is a very satisfying combination if you enjoy varied group fitness mornings and like leaving the gym feeling that you really used the day well.
How I Felt After Class
- Right after: tired, satisfied and very happy I stayed for RPM
- Later that day: physically worked, but mentally lifted by how good the whole morning felt
- What stayed with me most: the progress in Core and the bonus energy of RPM with two instructors
Final Thoughts
This was one of those Friday training mornings that reminded me exactly why I enjoy group fitness so much.
GAP gave me brutal leg work and variety.
Core gave me a clear sense of progress and one of those satisfying moments where you realise your body can now do things that used to feel much harder.
RPM gave me energy, music, tired legs and a finish-strong ending. And somehow all three classes worked together.
The whole morning felt full, challenging and genuinely worth it.
It started as a good training day. It ended as one of those sessions you remember.
