I did a Core and BodyAttack double class with Igor Angélico, and it was exactly the kind of challenge that makes you nervous, then weirdly proud. CORE lit my abs up first, then BODYATTACK finished the job with jumps, sweat and pure adrenaline. If you’ve ever wondered whether stacking CORE before BODYATTACK is a good idea, or you just want the honest vibe check on this double session, here’s exactly how it went.
Quick Verdict
CORE
- Intensity (1 to 10): 7.5
- Good for: deep core strength, stability, posture support, lower back protection, glute activation, anyone who wants a challenge without jumping but still wants to feel the burn
- My after class mood: tight core, glutes on fire, strangely energised, like my whole body was switched on
BODYATTACK
- Intensity (1 to 10): 9.5
- Good for: cardio endurance, athletic conditioning, coordination and agility, serious calorie burn, mental toughness, people who love fast, music driven workouts with clear structure
- My after class mood: buzzing and proud, completely drained in the best way

Class Snapshot
CORE
- Duration: 45 minutes
- Format: core stability and strength work in tracks, lots of plank variations, controlled burn, and a glute focused section that builds fast
- Equipment: mat (optional but helpful), towel, water bottle
- Instructor style: Igor Angélico is sharp, energetic and very engaging. His cues are clear, his timing is tight, and he keeps you committed when you’re tempted to play it safe
- My focus today: stay steady through the plank work, keep my core braced, scale when needed, and stay present through the burn instead of rushing it
- Injury notes: no injuries, just classic CORE fatigue and that deep “abs are awake” feeling
BODYATTACK
- Duration: 45 minutes
- Format: repeated cardio blocks with athletic moves, jumps and power work, short recoveries, fast pacing, and that “keep moving even when you’re cooked” vibe
- Equipment: supportive training shoes, towel, water bottle (and a lot of mental bravery
)
- Instructor style: Igor’s energy makes the room feel locked in together. He cues clearly, pushes at the right moments, and somehow makes suffering feel fun
- My focus today: keep moving through the jump sections, take smart low impact options when needed, push the hard parts without blowing up too early, and stay controlled even when the legs were begging for a pause
- Injury notes: no injuries, just heavy legs, tired core, and full body exhaustion in the best way

Electrifying Double Challenge With Igor Angélico
Yesterday, I was quite nervous because it would be my first time doing Core for 45 minutes followed by Body Attack for the same duration. The only reassurance I had? It would be FUN and WORTH IT. And why? Because the instructor was Igor Angélico.
He greeted us with his usual fantastic energy, and I quickly positioned myself—I didn’t want to be at the back of the studio, and the room was packed!
The CORE warm-up already felt like a workout to me .
The plank track was a solid reminder that I REALLY need to do this more often. I used my knees…for now…
Track four took me back to how much fun my Fridays used to be, and the “teaser” made it clear: Core is a MUST-GO class at least once a week!
Then, we moved on to BODY ATTACK.
If you’re curious about what BODYATTACK really feels like, who it’s for, and how to scale it when the jumps get wild, I wrote a full breakdown here: BodyAttack Review: My Honest Experience and What This Class Really Feels Like.
A little backstory: It all started with Igor. I used to be TERRIFIED of this class because… you jump SO MUCH ! I always had to hold onto the wall because my legs were at their limit. But Igor made it so much fun that what once felt bearable turned into something I LOVED!
And today was no different!
I had to hold onto the steps nearby, and every time Igor approached me, I felt “compelled” to give my best (who wants to get embarrassed in front of the instructor? Not me—at least if I can help it!
). His energy made the whole class electrifying!
Now, let’s talk about BURPEES!
I love them. I’m still getting back in shape, but at one point, I thought I was watching everything in FAST MOTION! At the end, when the music sped up and we’re all just hanging on by a thread, I saw Igor Angélico doing burpees to the beat of the song. LET ME REPEAT THAT: HE WAS DOING BURPEES TO THE BEAT OF THE SONG!
I had NEVER seen anyone doing burpees so fast ! I was SO CONFUSED
! I didn’t know if I should do mine or just stand there trying to understand what was happening! I love burpees, but like that?! COME ON…
CONGRATS, IGOR!
This Brutal Training Day was absolutely INCREDIBLE! I loved every bit of it. Igor was super kind, always giving us valuable technical cues, and his energy was simply fantastic.
I suffered, but always with a BIG smile on my face ! Brilliant evening!
Instructor Notes
Instructor credit: Igor Angélico (IG: @igorangelico). He’s the instructor featured in the class clips.
Igor’s coaching is one of the main reasons this double session felt exciting instead of intimidating. In CORE, he keeps the vibe light but the work very real. His cues are clear, his timing is tight, and he has that talent for making you laugh for two seconds and then realise you’ve been holding a plank for far too long. The track choices feel smart and slightly evil in the best way, especially when he isolates one side at a time and the burn builds fast.
Then in BODYATTACK, his energy changes the whole room. He pushes you to commit, but it never feels chaotic or unsafe. You always know what’s coming next, which makes it easier to go all in, take an option when you need it, and jump straight back in without losing the rhythm. The class feels organised from start to finish, even when everyone is hanging on by a thread.
