WHAT MY RPM HIGH PERFORMANCE CLASS REALLY FELT LIKE

RPM High Performance class review with Igor Angélico and Hugo Rocha from a student’s perspective.

I have to start with: WOW! One full hour of RPM! And with who? Igor Angélico and Hugo Rocha!

The setting was incredible: packed room and a beautiful light show. I LOVE it! Small details that make all the difference. Oh… and the instructors’ outfits? NICE!

The great energy from both of them was felt immediately, with such a warm welcome. Bikes chosen, we got started.

This RPM (High Performance) has 9 tracks and runs for a full hour. After 45 minutes they “released” everyone, leaving it up to each person whether to leave early or not. As if anyone would… The room held on until the very end!

The music selection was absolutely on point. I even got to sing along!

I gave everything in track 3, and thank goodness track 4 gave us a chance to recover. According to Hugo, that track used to serve exactly that purpose back in the day. Nothing like bringing the past back to the present. The class was grateful!

And then we arrived at THE one (for me): track 6! Igor magnificently built the momentum. But first, the music: it was FANTASTIC! The pace, the chance to gradually accelerate and prepare the legs for full speed… WOW! Suddenly I heard: “Ready, Suzi?” I thought: “YEAH!” After that, it was just close your eyes and let the legs go! What a SPECTACULAR track. I genuinely love it SO much!

In fact, let me just say that watching Igor on the bike is something else: from his posture, to the way he builds the moment, paired with those facial expressions (creating anticipation in all of us), right through to the explosion of energy. Simply MAGNIFICENT!

I still had something left for track 7, but by the time we reached track 8, my legs started refusing to cooperate.

By track 9 we were completely exhausted, but nobody gave up. Right at the end, Hugo went around calling out our names, pushing each of us individually (it helps enormously!), making sure we held on until the very last minute.

Note: did you know that RPM stands for RESULTS in the PALM of your HAND? I did not! According to Hugo, that is unofficial information. Jokes aside, and as he himself said, it makes perfect sense. It is the control of resistance that determines the intensity of the workout!

I LOVED the class, and there is something truly beautiful about seeing the RPM room completely full! The instructors were IMPECCABLE, giving us a truly memorable hour.

Once again, the Solinca magic happened: I left the gym HAPPY!

Instructor Notes

What stood out most in this class was the combination of two different but very powerful instructor energies. Igor brought strong build-up, anticipation, facial expression, musical connection and that explosive moment where the room feels ready to go. Hugo brought focus, motivation and individual encouragement, especially near the end when everyone was already tired.

Together, they made the class feel like more than a longer RPM session. It felt like an event inside the studio: packed room, strong lights, excellent music, warm interaction and the kind of atmosphere that keeps people going until the final minute.

From a student’s perspective, this was exactly what makes RPM High Performance memorable. The class was demanding, but the instructors gave the room enough energy, rhythm and encouragement to stay fully engaged until the end.

How I Felt After Class

  • Right after: exhausted, sweaty, happy and genuinely proud to have completed a full one-hour RPM High Performance class.
  • Later that day: still thinking about track 6, the packed room, the lights, the music and how strong the instructor energy felt.
  • Next day: aware of the legs, especially after the longer format, but with that satisfying feeling of having done something intense and memorable.

Final Thoughts

This RPM High Performance class with Igor Angélico and Hugo Rocha was one of those sessions that felt bigger than a normal gym class.

The full hour format made the experience more demanding, but also more exciting. The 9 tracks gave the class a stronger endurance feeling, and the packed room added to the energy from the beginning.

From a student’s perspective, this was an intense, musical and genuinely memorable RPM class. The instructors, the atmosphere, the lights, the music and the room all worked together.

I left exhausted, happy and completely reminded of why a great group fitness class can feel so powerful.
