I did Les Mills Sprint with Pedro Pereiros again, and this session reminded me exactly why Sprint has such a strong reputation. It is short, intense, and explosive, but when the coaching is right, it also becomes one of the most energising classes to experience.
If you have been wondering what a Les Mills Sprint class really feels like from a student’s perspective, how intense it is in real life, and what kind of atmosphere to expect, here is my honest experience.
Quick Verdict
- Intensity (1 to 10): 10
- Good for: people who want a short but very intense cardio workout, strong coaching, mental challenge, and that powerful “I really pushed myself” feeling after class
- My after class mood: exhausted, energised, proud, and very awake
Class Snapshot
- Duration: around 30 minutes
- Format: high intensity indoor cycling with short explosive efforts, recoveries, and repeated power-based intervals
- Equipment: stationary bike, water bottle, and towel highly recommended
- Instructor style: energetic, encouraging, technically helpful, and very present throughout the class
- My focus today: stay strong, respond well to the effort, and survive the final challenge
- Body notes: no injury issues, just full-body fatigue and that deep post-sprint effort feeling
SPRINT WITH PEDRO PEREIROS – AN EXPLOSIVE RIDE!
Intense Training Day! WOW! Normally, I do Sprint & Grit, but today only Sprint fit in.
Upon arrival, I saw Pedro Pereiros, who greeted me in a very cheerful way. There’s something to be said about an instructor’s mood. From my experience, if they’re too enthusiastic, we’re about to suffer.
And how right I was! Pedro prepared a killer Sprint class for us today.
He welcomed us into the studio with a song that I absolutely LOVE: Great Spirit!
Every class I take with Pedro, I learn something new or revise what I might have forgotten. Throughout the entire class, he keeps explaining techniques, and this is SO HELPFUL!
At the beginning, Pedro told us there would be a challenge at the end. I’m all up for challenges—I couldn’t wait!
The first track started strong. I was full of energy and gave it my best.
The best thing about today was how my body responded—the faster I pedaled, the faster I could go! Standing or not, with more or less resistance, I felt WONDERFUL! There’s nothing like pushing yourself! It feels so good to be back in shape!
There are two magic words that Pedro says that really fire me up: “Vá lá!” Or, in English: “Come on!” I love hearing encouragement—every little bit helps… That’s the magic instructors have on us. It never fails!
Despite loving encouragement, there’s a moment in Sprint that makes me nervous: when the instructor leaves his bike and joins us. I kept an eye on where Pedro was, and as long as he was motivating other students, I was fine. That way, I could go “slower” than I should.
But suddenly, I saw him right in front of my bike! I was so focused that I didn’t notice his movements. Well, given the situation, I had to give my best! No slacking off—not while he was in front of me!
And then, we reached the final track. And OMG! That was INTENSE! I gave everything I had! And it was AWESOME! Really… really… REALLY GOOD! What a GREAT challenge!
This Sprint class was INCREDIBLE. Pedro was AMAZING, on and off the bike, delivering an EXPLOSIVE class AND performance. I left the studio trembling—it took me a GOOD while to feel normal again 😅. WOW! Just WOW!👌🏾🔥
Instructor Notes
Instructor credit: Pedro Pereiros. He is the instructor featured in this class experience.
One of the things that stood out most in this Sprint session was Pedro’s coaching style. He brings strong energy into the room, but it is not empty intensity. He explains technique throughout the class, keeps people engaged, and creates that feeling that you need to keep going even when the effort starts to bite.
What also makes a difference is the atmosphere he builds. He comes across as cheerful, motivating, and fully involved in the session, and that changes the whole experience of a demanding format like Sprint. This class felt tough, but also very alive, very coached, and very memorable.
How I Felt After Class
Right after: breathless, sweaty, and completely switched on. It was one of those classes where you know immediately that your body has worked hard.
Later that day: still energised, but with that deep tiredness that comes from a very intense cardio session. I kept replaying parts of the class in my head because the energy had been so strong.
Next day: that familiar post-workout fatigue was definitely there, but in a satisfying way. No injury issues, just clear proof that Sprint had done its job.

Final Thoughts
This Sprint class with Pedro Pereiros was intense, explosive, and seriously memorable. If you enjoy short workouts that demand a lot from you in a small amount of time, Sprint can be incredibly rewarding, especially when the instructor knows how to push, guide, and lift the room at the same time.
From a student’s perspective, this was one of those sessions that leaves you tired, proud, and already thinking about the next class.
